North Carolina Shooting Club Mission Statement

The North Carolina Shooting Club (NCSC) is a private club that exists for the benefit of its members who share a mutual interest in all forms of shooting sports. Key elements of its mission are to promote safety, education and an overall competence with firearms. In addition, a major goal of the club is to create a sense of comradery and fellowship among its members. Therefore, being a member requires active participation in club meetings as well as in periodic range work projects. Active participation in the club strengthens it as an organization and brings members together as we all seek to develop our firearm skills in a friendly and safe environment. To strengthen our commitment to the mission, the following rules shall apply to all members:

Each member should participate in Club membership meetings. Each member must attend at least one meeting in the calendar year. If a member fails to participate in at least one meeting during the calendar year, range use privileges may be suspended until the next memberdhip meeting.

Suspended members can regain privileges by participating in the next membership meeting following suspension. If a suspended member fails to participate in the next meeting after suspension, their membership shall be terminated.

Each member should participate in all club work projects. These projects foster teamwork as well as help to maintain the range. Members shall participate in at least one work project during the calendar year. If a member cannot participate in work projects due to a health reason, such member can notify the board and request an exemption.

Facilities

The North Carolina Shooting Club has a rifle, handgun and skeet range available to its members and guests.  The rifle range shelter is currently being refurbished.  Two shooting benches are available for 100 yard rifle shooting while the new shelter is under construction.  The pistol range has six covered 35 foot stations with retractable targets, two covered 35 foot stations with permanent targets for pistol, rim fire and air rifle use, and a tactical area with steel targets.  The skeet range consists of an eight station regulation skeet field.  Clay targets are launched from both a "high house" and "low house" trap machine using a wireless remote control.
